NEW FLYING SPUR AZURE
Overview
The new Flying Spur Azure is more than just a luxury sedan. Designed by Bentley to offer an elevated experience in terms of comfort and wellbeing, it is a truly remarkable car – and as you might expect from Bentley, it offers all this alongside an incredible driving experience.
The bright chrome vertical vanes on its front grille are guaranteed to turn heads. The rest of the car’s exterior detailing is finished in bright chrome to match, while the interior brings together traditional craftsmanship with the latest technology.
With Bentley’s new High Performance Hybrid powertrain under the bonnet, the car delivers V8 power alongside reduced emissions and the ability to drive on smooth, near-silent electric power.
The Flying Spur Azure is joined in the Flying Spur range by the signature Flying Spur model, the performance-focused Flying Spur Speed and the pinnacle of four-door performance and craftsmanship, the Flying Spur Mulliner.

Design
The new Flying Spur Azure is instantly recognisable, thanks to its vertical-vaned, chrome front grille. Chrome detailing can be seen from every angle, from the matrix-style lower grilles at the front to the chrome oval tailpipes at the rear.
Inside, super-soft Nappa leather is used for the seats and much of the lower areas, while the upper areas, including the rear headrest cushions, the pillars between the windows and the lining of the roof, are clad in Dinamica. The seats display embroidered ‘Azure’ emblems as well as Bentley’s stunning new Harmony Diamond Quilt stitching pattern. And all these soft surfaces – leather and Dinamica – can be commissioned in your choice of 15 different colours.
The cabin comes with Open Pore Crown Cut Walnut veneers as standard, coupled with a gleaming chrome ‘Azure’ badge on the veneered fascia. All instrumentation and metal switchgear is finished in bright chrome, however the Dark Chrome Interior Specification is available as an option, for a more sports-inspired aesthetic.

Performance
The Flying Spur Azure is powered by Bentley’s High Performance Hybrid powertrain. An innovative pairing of a 4.0 litre turbocharged V8 engine and a powerful electric motor, it offers numerous driving modes. When both the engine and the electric motor are engaged, it can produce 930 Nm of torque, enabling you to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) and reach a maximum speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). It can also be driven on electric power alone, without engaging the engine. In this emission-free driving mode, the car can take you up to 50 miles (80 km), and cruise at up to 87 mph (140 km/h).
Although the car’s suspension and steering are calibrated for a refined ride by default, its new twin-valve dampers make Comfort mode even more comfortable, and Sport mode feel even more thrilling than before.
All-wheel steering is fitted as standard, reducing the car’s turning circle so much that even in tight city streets, it feels far more easily manoeuvrable than you might expect for a large luxury sedan. And with Bentley Dynamic Ride, its 48-volt anti-roll system, the car stays level and composed when cornering, without compromising the softness of the ride when driving in a straight line.

Technology
For such a spacious car, the Flying Spur Azure is very easy to drive in the city, thanks in part to its advanced driver assistance systems, which include parking assistance, 360-degree views of the area around the car and several anti-collision systems. For the open road, it includes the Touring Specification as standard – a package of systems including Adaptive Cruise Assist with Lane Guidance, Predictive Adaptive Cruise Assist, a head-up display and night vision.
For passengers in the rear, the Touch Screen Remote is a wireless tablet housed in the back of the centre console, offering access to many of the cabin’s electrical functions. That includes the heating and massage functions in the seats, the audio system and the air conditioning. It can even be used to close all the privacy blinds, with just one tap of an on-screen button.
To enhance the rear seat experience even further, the optional Bentley Rear Seat Entertainment package adds removable touchscreens to the backs of the front seats, allowing your passengers to enjoy smartphone content on bigger screens. Audio options, meanwhile, include Bentley Signature Audio, which is installed as standard, as well as the 16-channel Bang & Olufsen for Bentley system and the 20-channel Naim for Bentley system.
The Front & Rear Comfort Specification is installed as standard, offering a six-setting massage function in all four seats, plus adjustable headrests, cushions and backrest bolsters. Two further seating features help boost comfort and wellbeing even further. Postural Adjust uses air pockets located inside the seats to massage muscles almost imperceptibly, reducing fatigue and stiffness. Seat Auto Climate, meanwhile, uses sensors to detect changes in heat and humidity at the seat’s surface, then uses the seat’s heating and ventilation functions to keep you feeling fresh throughout your journey.
The air conditioning system is designed to filter out harmful PM2.5 particles, with the ability to recirculate the air inside the car if the air outside the car is more polluted. It can even switch into this mode automatically, if the car is approaching a tunnel.
A built-in Wi-Fi hotspot means the car’s internet connection can be shared with wireless devices inside the vehicle, such as smartphones, laptops, gaming devices and tablets. The car supports the wired and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto and, thanks to the new My Bentley App Studio, you can download a wide range of apps direct to the car’s infotainment system.

Personalisation
You can choose from a range of seven standard exterior colours, or alternatively pick a finish from Bentley’s extended range of optional paints, or the Mulliner range of premium finishes. Together, it adds up to more than 80 different options.
You can choose from two different finishes for the 22” Azure wheel fitted as standard, however you also have the option to choose an alternative from Bentley’s entire wheel range. Many can be enhanced with the addition of Self-Levelling Wheel Badges by Mulliner, as well as brake callipers in a choice of colours.
One of the most striking optional additions available to you is the retractable Flying ‘B’ bonnet mascot. Finished in chrome, it lights up as part of the car’s welcome sequence when you unlock the car.
In the cabin, the Nappa leather and Dinamica can be commissioned in 15 different colours, while contrast stitching, contrast piping and even contrast seatbelts are available as options too. The veneered surfaces can be clad in a wide range of optional alternatives to the standard Open Pore Crown Cut Walnut, including both high-gloss and open-pore woods, as well as ‘piano’ options and a wealth of technical finishes, ranging from Carbon Fibre to Engine Turned Aluminium and Côtes de Genève.
This is only a taste of the personalisation options available when you order a Flying Spur Azure.
