NEW FLYING SPUR
Overview
The new Flying Spur is the quintessential expression of Bentley’s vision for the luxury sedan, combining an exquisite passenger experience with thrilling performance and power.
The car features Bentley’s High Performance Hybrid powertrain – an advanced combination of a turbocharged V8 engine and a powerful electric motor. The result is all the smooth, surging acceleration you expect from a Bentley, alongside reduced emissions and the opportunity to drive for limited distances on electric power alone.
Bentley’s famous attention to detail is apparent wherever you look, from the black matrix grille that helps identify this model, to the richly appointed interior space.
The Flying Spur is the signature model in the range, lining up alongside the Flying Spur Azure for enhanced wellbeing and comfort, the Flying Spur Speed for rich sports styling and phenomenal performance, and the truly stunning Flying Spur Mulliner, for the ultimate in performance and luxury.

Design
One look at the new Flying Spur reveals just how beautiful a four-door sedan can be. Its sleek, flowing lines are enhanced by bright chrome exterior detailing, while a matt black matrix grille, complete with a chrome surround, helps identify this particular model. Large, 21” ten twin-spoke wheels come fitted as standard, with the option to replace them with even larger 22” ten spoke wheels, if you prefer.
The seats are clad in hand-finished, fluted Nappa leather, with five hide colours to choose from. For contrast, tactile, suede-like Dinamica is used on the roof lining and the headrest cushions in the rear – all in the same colour as the leather. Even the seatbelts are coloured to match.
The cabin’s veneered surfaces are fitted with high-gloss Crown Cut Walnut veneers as standard, however there is a wide range of optional alternatives available. The metal details are finished in a considered mix of bright and satin chrome as standard, but again, there is the option to change this – in this case, by opting for the sleek Dark Chrome Interior Specification.

Performance
The new Flying Spur features the Bentley High Performance Hybrid powertrain, which pairs a turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 petrol engine with an advanced electric motor. With both power sources engaged, it can take you from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) and on to a maximum speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). It can also be driven in electric-only mode, giving you an emission-free range of up to 50 miles (80 km).
In addition to adaptive all-wheel drive, the Flying Spur is fitted with all-wheel steering, which makes it surprisingly easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces, for such a spacious car. When driving at higher speeds, this feature also makes changing lanes a smoother experience for everyone on board. Bentley Dynamic Ride, a 48-volt anti-roll system, is included, which keeps the car stable when cornering, adding to the sense of control and composure. New twin-valve dampers, meanwhile, allow for a greater difference between driving modes, making Comfort mode even more comfortable and Sport mode even more exhilarating.

Technology
The Flying Spur is packed with advanced technology, making driving easier and more enjoyable than ever. It includes a range of advanced driver assistance systems, from cruise control and lane guidance to parking assistance and collision avoidance.
Passengers, meanwhile, enjoy a wealth of useful features. All seats include heating, ventilation and massage functions, with 24-way electrical adjustment for the front seats and 14-way electrical adjustment in the rear. The blinds for the side and rear windows are also electrically operated. The Touch Screen Remote is a wireless tablet housed in the back of the centre console, giving rear-seat passengers access to many electrical features, from the massage function in the seats to controls for the audio system and the blinds.
An intelligent new air conditioning system filters out PM2.5 particles and, if it detects that pollution levels are higher outside the car, it will stop drawing air in and instead recirculate the air inside. It can even detect when the car is nearing a tunnel and switch to recirculation mode in anticipation.
There is support for both the wired and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto, as well as a Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing passengers to share the car’s internet connection. The new My Bentley App Studio, meanwhile, allows you to download apps direct to the car, from a range curated by the team at Bentley.

Personalisation
Starting with the exterior finish, there are seven standard colours to choose from, plus an extended range and a Mulliner range that together, add up to more than 80 options. In addition to the 21” wheels fitted to the car as standard, you can choose from a range of 22” options, many of which are compatible with Self-Levelling Wheel Badges by Mulliner.
Inside, the Nappa leather and Dinamica upholstery can be commissioned in your choice of five standard colours, however if you add the optional Colour Specification, you can choose from another 10 colours. It also includes the option of two different duotone layouts, for extra flair.
For the veneered surfaces, the standard finish is Crown Cut Walnut, however there are numerous optional alternatives, including high-gloss woods, open-pore woods, ‘piano’ veneers and technical finishes such as Carbon Fibre or Engine-Turned Aluminium.
A range of specifications – packages of complementary optional features – includes the new Black Design Specification. It adds dark detailing inside and out, as well as a 22” black-painted wheel with contrasting brake callipers in the colour of your choice and Self-Levelling Wheel Badges by Mulliner. It also adds a technical veneer plus a contrast colour to the steering wheel, gear lever, stitching and piping, among other enhancements.
To explore an even greater range of specifications and personalisation opportunities, consider the Flying Spur Azure, the Flying Spur Speed or, for the ultimate in sedan luxury and performance, the Flying Spur Mulliner.
You can also talk to us about enlisting Bentley’s personal commissioning division, Mulliner, to add truly bespoke features to your car.
