Overview

The new Continental GTC is a new addition to Bentley’s unrivalled range of high-performance convertible grand tourers. Designed to offer you the ideal balance of power and exquisite craftsmanship, it can be considered the quintessential convertible Bentley.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find Bentley’s new High Performance Hybrid powertrain. This innovative combination of a turbocharged V8 engine with an advanced electric motor means you can expect responsive and exhilarating performance, alongside the ability to drive on electric power alone.

With Bentley’s stunning new single-headlamp design, this model is recognisable thanks to its black grilles and gloss black front splitter. And like every Bentley, it can be personalised with a dazzling array of optional colours, finishes and features.

Design

The new Continental GTC can be identified by its chrome exterior detailing and a black matrix grille with a chrome surround. Every aspect of its beautiful exterior has been crafted to highlight its position as one of the world’s great convertibles, from its eye-catching 21” wheels to the intricate Harmony Crystal structure inside each headlamp – a stunning touch that scatters the light wonderfully when the lights are off, without affecting the precision of the beam when they are activated.

The four-layer fabric roof is available in a choice of colours, while the inner layer uses smooth, tactile Iliada fabric.

The Dinamica and Nappa leather upholstery can be commissioned in any of five different colours, all of which complement the Crown Cut Walnut veneers perfectly. Both of the front seats, meanwhile, feature cooling functions to keep you comfortable on warm days. And when the temperature drops, you will benefit from a heated steering wheel and front armrest, alongside neck warmers built into both front seats.

Performance

The new Continental GTC is built on Bentley’s new High Performance Hybrid Powertrain, an innovative combination of a turbocharged, 4.0 litre V8 engine and a powerful electric motor. Together, these two power sources can deliver 930 Nm of torque at full power, which translates to acceleration from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds) and a maximum speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). Alternatively, you can drive on smooth, near-silent electric power, for an emission-free experience. It can be driven for up to 50 miles (80 km) in electric-only mode, reaching speeds of up to 87 mph (140 km/h) – all without engaging the V8 engine at all.

To enhance the drive even further, the Continental GTC comes with Bentley Dynamic Ride, an anti-roll system that keeps the car stable when cornering hard, as well as adaptive all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering. Together with its pioneering powertrain, this incredible package of technology makes for an effortless yet exhilarating drive.

Technology

The Continental GTC is packed with technology to make life on the road easier and even more enjoyable. For urban driving, for example, it includes a wealth of advanced driver assistance systems to help with parking and collision avoidance, while for the open road, it offers systems including Adaptive Cruise Assist, Lane Assist and Blind Spot Warning.

When the roof is closed, the air conditioning system filters out PM2.5 particles, automatically recirculating the air inside if it detects higher pollution levels outside. Thanks to innovative use of the navigation system’s GPS data, it automatically switches into recirculation mode when you are approaching a tunnel.

The car supports the wired and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto, making it easy to access the apps on your phone safely. And thanks to a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, all your passengers can share the car’s internet connection.

For drivers who prefer not to use Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto, it also includes the new My Bentley App Studio, which enables you to download apps navigation, gaming and entertainment apps direct to the car.

One of the most striking features is the optional Bentley Rotating Display. This stunning piece of technology allows you to switch between the touchscreen and either a veneered panel housing three analogue dials or an uninterrupted panel of veneer, all at the touch of a button.



Personalisation

The process of making your car personal to you begins with the exterior – specifically, the colour, the wheels and your choice of fabric roof.

There are seven paint colours available to you as part of the standard specification, however when you also consider Bentley’s extended range and the collection of Mulliner paints, that figure rises to more than 80. The fabric roof can be commissioned in your choice of three standard colours – black, blue or grey – while further options include Dark Brown, Claret, Dark Grey Metallic and Tweed. Finally, there are the wheels. 21” alloys are fitted as standard, however you have the option to upgrade to a choice of 22” options, for more road presence.

Inside the cabin, the Nappa leather and Dinamica upholstery can be commissioned in your choice of five colours, while the standard Crown Cut Walnut veneers can be replaced with a range of optional alternatives, including open-pore woods, high-gloss woods and ‘piano’ painted veneers in numerous colours. There are also technical finishes, ranging from Engine Turned Aluminium to Carbon Fibre.

As well as individual options, you can add specifications to your car – complete packages of optional features that work especially well together. For example, with the new Black Design Specification, you can turn the metal detailing black for a more technical look, while adding a black 22” wheel and brightly coloured brake callipers. Inside, the specification includes matt black and dark tint chrome components, a technical finish on the veneered surfaces and a contrast colour added to the steering wheel, gear level, seat stitching and piping.
