Overview

The new Continental GT is one of the latest additions to Bentley’s range of luxury grand tourers. Designed to offer the perfect balance of thrilling performance and exquisite craftsmanship, it sets a remarkable new standard for GT cars.

Showcasing the sleek new design seen across the Continental GT range, it features a radically new face, characterised by a purposeful single-headlamp arrangement and cleaner, more contemporary lines.

The car is powered by Bentley’s new High Performance Hybrid powertrain, an innovative combination of a V8 petrol engine and an advanced electric motor. With a choice of driving modes, it enables you to drive on V8 power only, electric power only, or a combination of the two.

Design

The Continental GT is a case study in luxury car design. Its flowing lines and muscular haunches give it incredible road presence, while its bright chrome exterior detailing makes its luxurious status clear. Its 21” wheels complement its proportions beautifully, while several subtle features identify this particular model, including the black matrix grille, black lower grilles and black front splitter.

The new headlamps feature the intricate Harmony Crystal design, a glittering interior structure that catches the light, whether the lamps are on or off. At the rear, deep red oval tail lamps are complemented by twin oval exhausts, while the ‘BENTLEY’ wordmark is emblazoned on the bootlid in bright chrome.

Inside, the seats feature fluted Nappa leather in your choice of five colours, each of which complement the Crown Cut Walnut veneers. Dinamica is used for the upper parts of the cabin upholstery, including the pillars between the windows and the lining of the roof. It all adds up to a truly luxurious travelling environment.

Performance

The Continental GT is powered by Bentley’s High Performance Hybrid powertrain. This is a 4.0 litre, turbocharged V8 engine working in combination with a powerful electric motor, for the kind of surging acceleration that has always been Bentley’s hallmark. When working together, the electric motor and petrol engine can deliver a full 930 Nm of torque, which translates into acceleration from 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds (0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds) and a top speed of 168 mph (270 km/h).

As a plug-in hybrid with a large battery, the Continental GT can also be driven on electric power alone, at speeds of up to 87 mph (140 km/h) and for distances of up to 50 miles (80 km).

In addition, it features a range of advanced chassis systems, including the Bentley Dynamic Ride anti-roll system, adaptive all-wheel drive and four-wheel steering – all of which contribute to a safe, satisfying and effortless driving experience.

For even more exhilarating performance, there is the Continental GT Speed and the Continental GT Mulliner, both of which feature Bentley’s Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain.

Technology

The suite of technology in the Continental GT provides all the advanced driver assistance and infotainment systems you expect from such an exclusive car.

It supports both the wired and wireless versions of Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto, so you can make the most of the apps on your phone. It also features a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing all passengers to make use of the car’s internet connectivity. As an alternative to Apple CarPlay® and Android™ Auto, you can use My Bentley App Studio to download apps direct to the car.

A range of advanced driver assistance features make urban driving easier and safer, from systems that help you park to collision avoidance. When it comes to open-road driving, the Touring Specification is an optional package of driver assistance features that covers everything from night vision and a head-up display to Adaptive Cruise Assist with Lane Guidance and Predictive Adaptive Cruise Assist. Together, these features take the effort out of driving on highways and major roads.

Another popular technology option is the stunning Bentley Rotating Display, which replaces the part of the fascia that houses the central touchscreen with a rotating section with three faces: on one face it has the touchscreen, on another it has three handcrafted analogue gauges and, on the third one, an uninterrupted panel of veneer. This allows you to choose how you want to interact with the car, depending on your mood.

Even the music system can be commissioned according to your needs, with three options to choose from. The Bentley Signature Audio system is supplied as standard, while both the Bang & Olufsen for Bentley and Naim for Bentley systems are available as optional upgrades.



Personalisation

Your Continental GT can be tailored to your taste with an enormous range of optional colours, features and finishes.

There is a choice of seven standard colours, however there are additional paint collections including Bentley’s extended range and a selection of premium finishes from Mulliner. In total, it adds up to more than 80 different paint treatments. And as an alternative to the standard 21” wheels, there is a wide range of optional designs, including several stunning 22” wheels.

In the cabin, you can select any one of five different colours for the leather and Dinamica upholstery. The veneered surfaces are clad in Crown Cut Walnut by default, however optional alternatives include a number of open-pore woods, high-gloss woods, high-gloss ‘piano’ painted veneers and technical finishes.

There is a wide range of different specifications available – packages of optional features that make it easy to personalise your car. For example, the new Black Design Specification turns all the exterior detailing black, adding a black 22” wheel with Self Levelling Wheel Badges by Mulliner, as well as contrasting brake callipers. Inside, it replaces much of the bright chrome with matt black or dark-tint chrome, while adding a contrast colour to the steering wheel, gear lever, stitching and piping, among other enhancements.
